## Brand Usage Restrictions

The following restrictions apply when using Virginia Commonwealth University brand assets:

- Never use the VCU seal as a standalone graphic. It must always accompany the VCU logotype unless used for official presidential business, diplomas, or regalia.
- Never stretch, squash, flip, or rotate the logo. Any resizing must maintain the original aspect ratio.
- Do not change the fonts within the brand mark or create your own "custom" department logos. Use only the official files provided by University Relations.
- Maintain a "safe zone" around the logo equal to at least half the size of the seal. Do not overlap the logo with text, photos, or other graphics.
- Do not use the VCU Rams athletic marks (the Ram head) for academic or clinical purposes. These are reserved for Intercollegiate Athletics.
- You are prohibited from substituting the official VCU Gold (PMS 130) with other shades of yellow or gold.
